The truth: Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a gentle bodywork technique that uses light, rhythmic strokes against the skin to help move lymphatic fluid around the body. It aims to stimulate the lymphatic system and assist it to reduce swelling, flush out toxins, and promote comfort in the patient.

Unlike the vascular system, our lymphatic system requires physical movement and muscle use to promote fluid removal via the lymph nodes.

MLD assists the lymphatic system to purge excess fluid and toxins from the body, resulting in reduced discomfort from fluid retention and bloating.

Contrary to common belief, MLD focuses on the shallow lymphatic vessels, not deep muscle tissue, and should feel soothing rather than painful. The practitioner will guide fluid to the lymph nodes to allow the body to more readily remove the build up.

If you're experiencing discomfort from fluid retention, bloating, or puffiness we encourage you to try real manual lymphatic drainage at SOMA SNCTRY.
